His wife's name is Christina UNKNOWN and he had one known sibling named Susanna. Some of Abraham's children were born in Franklin Co. before he migrated to Ashland Co. Ohio in about 1836. 1. [PAFRANKL] LookUp for MAYBERRY, Israel was on 1840 Census of Franklin Co., Pa.
    2. Frank Mayberry
    3. Anyone searching the libraries around Franklin County, Pa. please keep me in mind. I am searching for any information I can obtain on my gggrandfather Israel Mayberry. He was rumored to have been sighted on the 1840 Census of Franklin County, Pa. I have located him later on the 1850 Census of Hampshire County, Virginia living in the household of John and Sarah Cooper. He shows his occupation as a Carpenter and reflected his age as 58 years old. He is knowned for his ability to work near with various Iron works such as Forges, Bloomeries, and Furnaces. His parents were George Mayberry and Rebecca Pennybacker Mayberry dau of Dirck Pennybacker of Philadelphia, Pa. (Germantown). The Pennybackers were married into the De Haven's who were also known around that area as early settlers in Germantown, Pa. The Pennybacker family were Iron Masters too. George Mayberry and brother-in-law Benjamin Pennybacker were the builders and operators of the Columbia Furnace in Shenandoah County, Virginia in the late 1700's and early 1800's (1803 they built the Columbia Furnace). Anyone who has inforamtion on these names please contact me. Since Israel was in Franklin County in 1840 and later found in 1850 at Hampshire County, I figure he might have returned to that area sometime after 1850. He did not show on the 1860 Census as far as I can tell. Any help will be highly appreciated. I am Israel's gggrandson in Muskogee, Ok

    3. Nothing for John in the Franklin County Will Abstracts 1784-1826. A John did witness the will of Abraham Kneffer, 1826 in Washington County. Did find this: Will Book C, p 340. Will of Henry Miller, Washington Twp. written 29 May 1812, proven 15 May 1817. Wife Elizabeth. Son Henry. Five daughters: Elizabeth Heifner wife of Jacob (this is cross referenced in the will index as Hefner), Barbara Heifner, wife of Valentine; Elizabeth Lady(Leidig?), wife of Henry (did he have two daughters name Elizabeth?); the heirs of Mary Jacob who married Henry Jacobs; Catherine Heilman, wife of Jacob. Exec: Son Henry Miller and Henry Jacobs. Wit: William Bleakney, Jacob Purrman (Poorman?) and Henry Soudy(?) Note: Seem to be errors with this - you would need to get a copy of the original. Will Book A, p 216. Will of David Hefner, Washington Twp, written 17 Mar 1791, proven 30 Aug 1791. Wife Mary. Children Vironica, Benj., Mary, Catherine, David, Goerge, Miriam, Daniel, Ester, Sameul, and Elizabeth and 'in case my wife be delivered on the child or children she is big with at present', it or them to share. Exec: Wife Mary and Abraham Stoner Sr. Wit: Patrick Money, John Bourns, Mathias Misoner. -----Original Message----- From: RogerCubs@aol.com <RogerCubs@aol.com> To: PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com <PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, September 17, 2000 8:31 PM Subject: [PAFRANKL] John Hebner - Look up >The 1820 PA census shows: > >David Hefner - Franklin Co. 098 Washington Twp. >John Hefner, Sr. - Franklin Co. 098 Washington Twp. >John Hefner, Sr. - Franklin Co. 098 Washington Twp. >George Hefner - Franklin Co., 097 Washington Twp. > >Is there a death record or a Will for John Hefner, Sr. between 1820 and 1830? > He doesn't appear in my notes for the 1830 PA census. Charles, According to Jim Haupt's Franklin County Cemetery locator, the cemetery in the village of Pleasant Hall is thhe Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. It is located at the intersection of routes 533 and 997. Travelling south, If you go off 81 and into the center of Shippensburg, make a left on King St. and then right in 533 which is Orrstown Rd. Pleasant Hall is about 8 or 9 miles. If you are going north, get off 81 at 997 which is exit 8, and go north on 997 about 8 or 9 miles to Pleasant Hall. There are two cemeteries named Pleasant Hill, one Mennonite and one Brethren in Christ which are inside the boundary of the Letterkenny Army Depot. These are no longer being expanded, but are well maintained. Hope this helps, Bill Hawk -- Bill Hawk whsaxman@philly.infi.net "It is indeed desirable to be well descended, but the glory belongs to our ancestors"-Plutarch HAUCK,STUMP,HAWK,REGES,SPAHR,SENSENY,HUBER,MUSSELMAN,MELL,WOLF,STUTENROTH,WELLIVER,(PA 1751- now); KILLOUGH,MCCAUGHAN,RANKIN,CHESTNUTT,MCALLISTER (NIR>PA USA 1794-now)

    1. [PAFRANKL] Look-up for Catharine (Hoffman) Hepfer
    2. I am researching Catharine (Hoffman) Hepfer (b. 14 Aug 1782, d. 29 June 1863). She was the wife of Stephen Hepfer/Hoepffer who resided in Franklin County. Catharine's known son is David H. Hepfer. She is buried at Pleasant Hall Cemetery. Could someone please check thru the 1860 census for a Catharine Hepfer. She would have been living with a son or daughter. The only child known at this time is David H. Hepfer (b. 1801). His wife's name was also Catharine. Thank you, Sue Cramer Peoria, AZ

You may be walking on the land where your ancestors actually walked, located on the Conodoquinet Creek.) Revolutionary War re-enactors, bagpiper, lots & lots of genealogy & history, covered wagon rides, pony rides, lots of games & activities for the children, recording of family histories, individual family & group photos for posterity, sharing of heirlooms, etc. Saturday evening - dinner & re-enactments & campfire program at the Homestead. Sunday - each family is welcome to attend the Church service and hold a memorial service at their ancestor's graves. BBQ lunch back at the Homestead for all, farewells, final sharing of genealogy, etc. We would like to get info out to all the descendants of these early families. 1. [PAFRANKL] W. Pa. Genealogical Biographies
    2. Greetings, This will be the last post that I will make for a long time, as I am drained from doing this project. On my site I have compiled the following information in my "All ThingsMcKeesport" Section" of my site located at: http://www.geocities.com/geojenk Be patient as I have a lot of great stuff packed on the pages till I can tweak them for faster loading. Detailed History of McKeesport, Pa Genealogy and Biographies of Early McKeesporters (These are very detailed genealogical biographies on close to 400 individuals that immigrated to McKeesport from other countries/states.) Pictures and Biographies of Prominent Early McKeesporters (Part of above) Western Pennsylvania Family Group Genealogies (Genealogical Biographies on close to 400 family groups that lived in Western Pa. Includes families country of origin where applicable) Biographies of Service Men (WWI) (Men and women who served in WWI from the W. Pa. Area. Detailed info concerning their service record and also a lot of their pictures.) Pictures of Life in 1900s - Western Pa. (Close to 60 pictures showing how life was in W. Pa. during the beginning of the 1900s. There are some people on these pics that may be reconizable. Some immigrant group pics.) Please remember these sources of info are not related to my family research efforts. I have done this project with the intention of sharing the info. I get no financial gain from this effort as my site sells absolutely nothing. Good Luck!!!
