While visitng with my mother in central PA recently, I discovered this paper on the Wetmore Jackson Cemetery in Conewango Township, Warren County, PA. She thinks that she got it from someone at the Warren County Historical Society. I have reproduced it as it appeared - with the exception of adding the location under the cemetery name. The spacing is not holding up in the e-mail. I grew up close to this cemetery and can provide directions to it if anyone is interested. I was always intrigued by the stone which fell on Mr. Berry and was then used as his tombstone. As far as I have determined I have no relatives in this cemetery. My interest was solely in terms of proximity to my childhood home. Hope that this provides some help for someone somewhere. Happy Hunting Judy Donovan Litwin Penn State Proud in Scappoose, Oregon WETMORE JACKSON CEMETERY Conewango Township, Warren County, PA. The original owner of this land was Daniel Jackson, who is believed to be buried therein. No visible marker. Mr. Jackson disposed of this property to a Mr. Winters, and it was he who transferred the title of this burial ground to Conewango Supervisors, and if this is a fact, they have never made any effort to assume responsibility and maintenance of this old burial ground. About 102 x 208. Surrounded once by old picket type fence. The old stone footer posts are still in tact, 8 apart, entrance gate was on north end. 1955 Luther Erickson cut brush, made a lawn, purchased grass seed, planted many small evergreens, and set white wooden crosses to all known and unmarked graves. Mr. Erickson replaced many of the wooden crosses he set with flat sandstone which will endure the elements for all time."
