I am looking for the wife of Jamon Beeman. She is also my 2nd gr grandmother. Her name is Mary Ann and she was born in PA about 1813. I have been able to follow her through three marriages and know that she was still living in Grant Co. WI in 1880 where on that census she says that her parents were born in New Jersey. I think that Mary Ann m. Jamon Beeman there in Warren or McKean Cos. PA about 1830 since their children were born 1831-1833 at Quaker Hill, Warren Co, PA. That area I thought would be in Kinzua Twp on the 1830 census. I checked that census for families with a dau age 15-20 and then checked to see which of these families were born in New Jersey. This is what I found: Sylvanus Marsh, Jonathan Marsh, Stephen Hadley and Jonathan Pound qualified. Jonathan Marsh was then in the 1850 census for Lafayette, McKean Co where the Beemans were living. The McKean Co History says that he helped lay out the road through McKean Co. My reasoning may be wrong, but this is why I have been researching the Marsh family. Marsh and Pound were both Quakers in NJ before settling here. I feel there is some tie to the Quakers and I have been studying them. I already have 1878 Atlas of Warren Co. township map, History of Warren Co (1887) William S. Marsh. I have a Rev. War record for Simeon Marsh. I have checked the deeds for McKean & Warren and Jamon and Mary Ann Beeman sold land 21 Apr 1838 in Elk twp a part of Tract 5547 on the border of New York to Joseph Clindenin. This is also a Quaker family. I went to a Quaker History Conference and bought a book: A Quaker Promise Kept, by Lois Barton. It is about the Philadelphia Friends' Work with the Allegany Senecas, 1795-1960. I think this work brought the Quakers there originally. I still have not located their Quaker records, but I do have a lot of Marsh Quaker records in PA & NJ. Can anyone help me with this problem? Gwen Boyer Bjorkman gwenbj@seanet.com
