One is a small black soldality book that at one time belonged to Marie Madden 513 Fourth St., Warren, Pa. The name and address are hand written in, apparently by her. Madden would be her maiden name. The copyright is 1908. Knowing how much this might mean to her or her descendants, I would like to return it to the rightful owner. If you can help please e-mail me. Thank you Amy R. Hines

    1. Obit - Mrs. Lottie Smith GALBRAITH - 1880
    2. Edward Sinker
    3. Hi, I just received the following obituary about my first cousin thrice removed and thought that it might be of interest to the group. I also hoped that someone might be able to throw some light on the Hon. Thos. Struthers, who is mentioned and maybe who were and what happened to the Galbraith children. - >From the Warren Mirror - 30 March 1880: Died - At her residence in the borough of Warren, March 25, 1880, Mrs. LOTTIE SMITH GALBRAITH, aged 35 years. The decease of Mrs. GALBRAITH in the midday of ordinary life produced a feeling of unusual sadness in our community. While it was known her health was poor and her frame deli- cate, still the announcement of her death, not being prededed by any notice of special illness, was a surprise to everybody and excited a universal feeling of sympathy and regret. Mrs. GALBRAITH was well known and greatly beloved among the best class of our people. Her amiability of disposition and manner made her a special favorite with those who knew her best. She was the only child of her widowed mother, Mrs. CHARLOTTE SMITH, who resided with her, the granddaughter of Dr. LABAN HAZELTINE, and niece of Hon. S. P. JOHNSON, with who she had lived much in her younger days and where she was married to JAMES A. GALBRAITH, her bereaved husband, on the 25th of January, 1870. She leaves three interesting children, the youngest not three years old, to mourn their irreparable loss. She was a devout member of the Episcopal Church of this place and died animated by the faith its gospel inspired, that death would be but the portal to her entrance upon a blissful immortality. The funeral services were conducted by the rector of that parish, Rev. H.S. GETZ, at the church, in presence of a large and deeply sympathizing audience, and then her remains were deposited in the elegant vault of the Hon. THOS. STRUTHERS, in Oakland Cemetery. To her numerous friends and relatives, and especially to her dear children, this dispensation of Providence is a severe affliction, softened only by the reflection that what is their loss is her gain. ___________________ p.s. I know one child's name is Jessie May Galbraith who married Edward O. EMERSON on 20 Jun 1900 at St James Church, Titusville, Pa. but lose trace of her after that. Cheers, Ed Edward Coates Sinker - email: sinker@globalnet.co.uk Church Lea Bosbury Herefordshire HR8 1PX U. K.
