Hello; I found this query posted to Warren Co PA.; I am interested in any BROWN who resided in Sugar Grove, PA ca. 1825-1845 time period. The only names I know are: Cyrenius, Cyrus, Daniel, Elijah, Experience, Jane Stephen?, Lorenzo?, Charles?...Cyrenius b. 1774 VT may have been the father of Cyren(i)us Jr., Cyrus, Daniel and Elijah, b. 1813. Experience was who he married in 1799 VT but she may have died early on. Jane Ena m. Elijah and had sons Charles, John, and two with unknown names but who died in the Civil War; and daughters Lucretia. and Mary. and this is from MY postings. Orren Brown born Dec 1852/ PA Wife Martha A. Brown Birth Dec 1856/ Bear Lake PA Daughter Ola A. Brown birth Oct 1888 Son Samuel Brown birth Dec 1897 Then there is a Orrin Brown in 1860 Census I show the following Page 86 of Warren County PA Line 33 Lorenzo Brown Head of house age 43 Rhoda Brown Wife age 57 Childern Betsey A age 16 Lewis L age 15 Margaret Age 14 Charles age 13 Myood??? age 11 Edward age 9 Orrin age 7 was my G Grandfather we THINK.married to Martha ROBINSON, dau OLA is my Grandmother. Samuel age 4 and this; partly from another BROWN researcher. After great amounts of research, I have found Orrin and Orren as the same person. In 1860 I found Orrin O. Brown age 7, in 1870 no longer with Lorenzo & Rhoda Brown. I found Orrin in Calhoun county Iowa, he Married Emmily Yates in Mason Iowa 1876. They then had Frank O. and Merl J. Brown. I found Emmily, Frank O. and Orrin O Brown in in the 1880 Census. But I could not find them in 1900 in Iowa. I then found Orrin O. Brown list as with George T. Emersol. Listed as Stepson. And I found Orrin O. Brown back in Warren County PA. They got Divorced before 1888. In or before 1888 Orrin O. Brown married Martha A. and had a daughter Ola A. birth Dec. 1888 in Warren Co PA. and a son Samuel 1897. Children of Lorenzo BROWN and Rhoda are as follows: Betsey A., Lewis L., Margaret, Charles, Myood???, Edward, Samuel. I have ages of all of them. This family ALMOST fits mine, but the dates are off I have Ola born 1892, married to Frederick PRATT, March 15 1908 and she states on her marriage lic. she was 16 Which may be wrong but it is stated on the licence. . Fred Pratt, was born 1887, Ripley NY with the above dates she is only 1 yr. younger that Fred. And also some where are 2 brothers of OLA, one was in RIPLEY, Avery, known as SANDY BROWN, married to IVA. he comitted died in the 1920-30 period and stated he couldn't live with Iva or without her. His children as my Mother remembers them; Durwood BROWN Leonard Brown, and NINA And somewhere in this family is an ORLANDO BROWN, who died in Ripley NY 1955, married to Jessie EARL, b Oct 27 1885 NorthEast PA, died Westfield Hospital NY buried North East PA May 7 1961, I think Ola's brother, he was a witness at her wedding to PRATT. This is a mish mash of dates and I hope some one makes sense of it. I have been saving my Brown family for last I think they are harder than SMITH. BREWER of Clarington did attend the deaths of at least three of my ancestors: William ISHMAN (1902), Nancy REA DUNKLE ( 1919), and Rachel KETH ISHMAN (1925). He also wrote to the Civil War pension commission on behalf of Andrew REARDON (1920), so if you needed a xerox of his signature I probably have one.
