HI! I just joined this list. I have information to share on the above families from Warren County. I am particularly looking for death date, cemetery inscription, or death certificate on Daniel WHEELER who migrated to Warren Co. in 1833. Kathy in Hoodsport, WA hole18@hctc.com
Hi all! Peter Linquist first appears in the 1870 census in Warren Co. (as Peter Linchrist) in the household of Andrew Newman, Louisa Newman, and 2 children, all b. in Sweden; the youngest child was 2 years old so I am assuming they had migrated within the prior 2 years. Peter m. Mary (Sweet) Camp Oct 6 1872. In the 1880 census they had 1 child and her 4 Camp children, also Mary's sister,Mariah Bowers and her son Fred in the hh. In 1900 Sugar Grove Twp. lists Peter and Mary and her granddaughter Maud Kemp (Camp) in the hh. Maud m. Lud Ekdahl. Mary and Peter Linquist are buried in the cemetery at Chandlers Valley, she d. in 1908, he d. in 1922. I have not been able to get a death certificate for Peter from Warren Co. records. Also tried Trumbull Co. OH as some of the family moved there. I am trying to find out from where and when he left Sweden. Does anyone know if there are obits on record or any ideas where I might search? Thanks much, Jean Tobey
If I'm not mistaken, the Warren library has a card file for obits. It then directs you to the newspapers on microfilm. I'm sure they could do a look-up for you if you emailed the library. Linda Harvan Baton Rouge, LA

I would appreciate it if the following marriages could be looked up from the 3 volumes of marriage and death notices: Augustus F. Rhoads and Mary Gibson, abt 1865 Margaret Gibson & John Chambers, 1880 Sarah A. Gibson and William Turner, abt 1865 Elener Gibson and ?, abt 1864 Jane Gibson and ?, abt 1871 Lausler Gibson and ?, abt 1880 Betsy Gibson and ?, abt 1878 This Gibson family lived in Deerfield from 1851 on. I would also like to know if there is a resource anywhere in Warren Co. for looking up obits. I'm particularly looking for an obit in 1898 and another in 1901. Thanks much for any help! My grandfather, Paul V. Duckett, lived at 407 Jackson Avenue in Warren. His house was right on the town line going up the hill on Jackson Avenue. Just passed his house above the road as it went around the bend is a small cemetery. My g g grandparents, Martin and Salome Bagler, are buried there. Can anyone tell me the name of this cemetery? Thanks! Don Duckett, Jr.

I need help locating a church called ST.THOMAS CHURCH in the Pittsfield or Columbus Township area. I am not sure if it's Episcolpalian or Catholic. This church, according to a relative's obituary, existed in 1949. Does anyone know if it's still in this area and what town it's in??? The only clue I have is that there was a BRACKEN-KEATING FUNERAL HOME in the area and a PINE GROVE CEMETERY. Please respond to Maggie at magton@buffnet.net

This is indeed a rare name. Anyone on the list know where it came from? How about Musa/Muca which means "Moses" in Arabic? I haven't seen Sullivan too much on other lists for a ROSS. Some have suggested it may be a surname used as a first name, or perhaps his mother's maiden name. I welcome all comments. Not all counties are available for a given state. For NEW YORK for example you will see several counties and the QUERY BOARDS which are available/ Obits/ Names/Deeds/Wills/Bible/Pension/ Be sure to post queries only to the query board/ deed info to the deed etc. It's quite new but there is a lot of good information and another place to search. and to post your surnames. The world at your fingertips.
