Agnes Susan Salopek Zubal 05/17/2006 Herald Standard, Uniontown, Pa. Agnes Susan Salopek Zubal, 71, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born September 28, 1934, in Masontown, Pa., a daughter of the Melie Salopek and Catherine Rupon Salopek. Mrs. Zubal was a graduate of Masontown High School. She was a member of Saint Hugh Roman Catholic Church of Carmichaels. She was a member of the Saint Hugh Altar Rosary Society and was a dedicated and devoted second grade CCD teacher. Her most recent class made their first Holy Communion on Sunday, April 30, 2006. Mrs. Zubal enjoyed flower gardening. She and her husband, Emil, enjoyed traveling and visiting with their children. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Mary Lou Oblak and a brother, Michael Salopek Surviving are her husband, Emil Zubal; her children, Sharon Ann Puskar and her husband Gregory of Morgantown, West Virginia and John Emil Zubal and his wife Christina of Jonesboro, Georgia. She was the sister of Paul R. Salopek and his wife Dorothy of Willoughby, Ohio, Catherine Pyzdrowski of Masontown, Pa. and John Zalac of Masontown, Pa. Family and friends are welcomed from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. (724-966-5500). There will be no visitation on Thursday in the funeral home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, in Saint Hugh Roman Catholic Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at the mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
