Barb, I just came across the same situation with one of my GG's. Call or write the National Archivies and Records Adminisration, Washington, D.C. The record is called United States Non-Population Census Schedules for Pennsylvania ( or what ever state) 1850-1880. Tell who ever they give you to all of the information thats on the Mortality Schedules Index Record that will help. They will send you a form to fill out and the cost is $17.00. I haven't received my form as yet but probably its the standard what relationship, etc., just like you would have to do when ordering any certificate. A friend of mine was visiting in Maryland and I asked her to call and get the information on how to order for me, she did, thats how I know this is the thing to do. As to what information? I understand there might not be very much or there could be who his or her spouse was, where he died (what town) maybe even parents names. Wish I could tell you more, but until I get the form, mail that and the money, and then wait for it to get here in California I won't know for certain. I will put everything on the List when its complete so anyone that might have the same question will have some help. Sorry I couldn't do more at this time. Alice California
