From the Observer-Reporter, May 17, 2006 Agnes Susan Salopek Zubal, 71, of Carmichaels, died Monday, May 15, 2006, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. She was born September 28, 1934, in Masontown, a daughter of Melie and Catherine Rupon Salopek. Mrs. Zubal was a graduate of Masontown High School and was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Hugh Altar Rosary Society and was a dedicated and devoted second-grade CCD teacher. Her most recent class made its first Holy Communion on Sunday, April 30. Mrs. Zubal enjoyed flower gardening. She and her husband, Emil, enjoyed traveling and visiting with their children. Surviving are her husband, Emil Zubal; and two children, Sharon Ann Puskar and husband Gregory of Morgantown and John Emil Zubal and wife Christina of Jonesboro, Ga. She was the sister of Paul R. Salopek and wife Dorothy of Willoughby, Ohio, Catherine Pyzdrowski of Masontown and John Zalac of Masontown. Deceased are a sister, Mary Lou Oblak, and a brother, Michael Salopek. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, 724-966-5500. There will be no visitation Thursday in the funeral home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, in St. Hugh Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels, with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at the mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown. There will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
