Marie GALECKI Franks, 78, of New Salem, Pa., passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born October 24, 1925 in Masontown, Pa., a daughter of Frank GALECKI and Helen MICHALOWSKI Galecki. Marie was a member of Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, Pa., and The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and past member of The Catholic Daughters of America Court 505. She retired as Manager of the Uniontown Credit Bureau, had attended classes at both Yale and Princeton University, and graduated from Uniontown Area High School. Marie was preceded in death by sisters, Sophia Scibor and Virginia GALECKI; brothers, John, Stanley, William and Chester, and her parents. Surviving are her husband, Edward A. FRANKS; sisters and brother: Helen Wanchick and husband John, of Livonia, Michigan, Bob Gowesky and wife Julie of Bradenton, Florida, and Frances Kolonsky and husband Frank, of Uniontown, Pa. Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 20, until 11 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Thomas Church, Footedale, Pa., with Rev. Fr. Donald P. Trexler as Celebrant. Interment will be in Saint Thomas Cemetery, Footedale, Pa.
