Joseph James BUFFERS, 78, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 13, 1994, at Frick Hospital and Community Health Center, Mount Pleasant. He was born Oct. 3, 1915, at Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Peter and Theresa Guido Buffers. He was self-employed for more than 45 years as a decorator in Mount Pleasant. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3368, was a life member of the BPO Elks 868, all of Mount Pleasant, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus, third degree. He also was a member and served as an usher at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant. Surviving are his wife, Frances Pernatozzi Buffers; one son, Joseph A. Buffers of Mount Pleasant, R.D. 7; two brothers, Frank and Paul Buffers, both of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Rosemarie Buffers, also of Mount Pleasant.
