Mrs. Maxie T. PENNINGTON, 85, of 1300 Gurley Drive (Westmoreland Hills Apartments), Scottdale, died Monday at Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant. She was born Feb. 12, 1904 in Williamsburg, W. Va., daughter of the late Lester and Clara Taylor Toothman. She worked for various clothing stores and restaurants before her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church of Scottdale. Surviving are a son, the Rev. Dr. Herbert M. Pennington Jr., pastor of Christ United Methodist Church of Scottdale; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Patricia) Cowan of Farmington Hills, Mich.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marshall Toothman of Blacksburg, Va., and one sister, Miss Lyndall Toothman of Moorehead, Ky.
