I'm always looking for documentation on the Snyder's of Fayette/Somerset Counties, and I recently came across a Snyder I can't place. Ludwick Snider of Tyrone Township left a will dated 27 Aug 1849. I have not been able to place Ludwick within the John Snyder/Dewalt Schneider line or Adam Snyder of Somerset Co lineage. He mentions his wife Elizabeth and his daughter Polly intermarried with John Sheaffer. He mentions his four sons: Jacob, John, David and Ludwick. He also mentions daughter Eliana Snider. Witnesses were Jacob D. Overholt and Samuel Garver (?? sorry, its a hard name to read). I believe Beverly Domer may have found Ludwick Snider in Bullskin Township in the early census information (1810??). Anyone out there familiar with Ludwick? Is he related to either of the other two Snyder/Schneider lineages I previously mentioned? Thanks for any help on this one. And if anyone wants a copy of Ludwick's will, please let me know. Ellen, I have some info on Ludwick Schneider (I am researching John Schneider & wife Barbara of Tyrone Twp., Fayette Co., PA, whose daughter Barbara Schneider (1782 MD - 1862 PA) married John Newcomer of Tyrone Twp.) During my research, I picked up data on any Schneider/Snider/Snyder in Fayette Co. and this is what I have. Ludwick Schneider b. Sept 1768; d. in Fayette Co., abt 1849 married 1794 near Leitersburg, Washington Co., MD to Elizabeth Garver d/o Christian Garver & Catherine Miller. They came to Fayette Co. about 1799 . Their children were Jacob ca 1795; John ca 1797; Mary/Polly ca 1799 Bullskin Twp., Fayette Co., PA; Lewis ca 1802; David ca 1804; Elizabeth ca 1806 and Eleanor ca 1808. Ludwick was a son of Jacob Schneider (1 Jun 1725 Wuerttemberg, Germany-27 Sep 1778 Frederick Co., MD) mar. by 1757 to Maria Magdalena Bissinger (1731-1810), d/o Michael & Anna Maria Bissinger who came from Germany to America about 1750 and to Frederick Co., MD in 1773.
