Funeral services for George SMETANA, 54, fatally injured Monday night when struck on the head when he refused another man the loan of 25 cents, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home in Shady Avenue, West Brownsville, with additional rites in the Green Catholic Orthodox church. Burial will be in New Salem cemetery. Smetana, who is survived by his widow and three children, was allegedly struck by John Sarver, 45, also of Brownsville, while the men were arguing over the loan in Snowden Square. Smetana fell to the ground, his head striking a rail on a railroad track. He succumbed in Brownsville General hospital. Sarver is held in county jail pending the outcome of the coroner's inquest.
