Clarence A. "Critchy" CRITCHFIELD, 82, of Sandy Spring, Md., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, April 13, 1997, in his residence. He was born April 28, 1914, son of William G. and Sarah May HERBERT CRITCHFIELD. Mr. Critchfield was a retired salesman formerly employed by Hecht's Company, member of Christ United Methodist Church in Uniontown, Laurel Lodge 651 F&AM, Royal Arch 165, St. Omar's Commandry, Knights Templar, and Scottish Rite Valley of Uniontown, and life member of both BPO Elks and Syria Temple. His parents and his wife, Mary PRATT Critchfield, are deceased. He is survived by four sisters: Clara "Happy" Chambers, of Arlington, Va., Irene Kramer and Barbara Neely, both of Gaithersburg, Md., and Betty Boernke, of Bloomington, Minn. Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday, April 17, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Services will then be held with Rev. William Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 6 West Fayette St., Uniontown, PA 15401.
