>From the Teddy Craig Records at Chestnut Ridge Historical Society, Stahlstown, PA. Vol 5,p. 31 William F. Durstine, 68, of Champion, died in his home Wednesday, Sept. 22. He was born March 8, 1908 in Scottdale, son of the late Arthur and Daisy Williams Durstine. Mr. Durstine was a former coal miner, and a retired employe of the U.S. Steel Corp. at its Edgar Thompson Works, Braddock. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, the United Steel Workers of America, and the County Line Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife, Emma Blystone Durstine; two sons, William Durstine Jr. of Champion and Milton (Lee) of Mount Pleasant and four daughters. Mrs. Paul (Jean) SANTUCCI of Mammoth, Mrs. Donald (Arlene) SLEASMAN, Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) HAMLIN, both of Findlay, Ohio. Mrs. Janet STILLWAGON of Champion; 22 grandchildren, one great grandchild; four brothers, Abe of Johnstown, Joseph of Normalville, Boyd of Confluence, and Jack of Miami, Fla.; and five sisters, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) ROGERS of Pompano, Fla., Mrs. Margaret LAMBERT of Somerset; Mrs. Howard (Daisy) BOWERS of Mundelein, Ill., Mrs. Everett (Elsie) PRITTS of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Alvie (Olive) MOGNET of Donegal. Friends were received at the Clyde Brooks Fueral Home, Route 711 at Melcroft, until Sunday at 1:30 p.m. when a prayer service was held followed by additional services held in the County Line Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Merrill Branson and the Rev. John GEARY officiating. Burial was in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, near Champion. Note: A handwritten note on the newspaper clipping says "1976". Not related. Just sharing.
