L. Boyd SNYDER, 98, of Ligonier, Pa., and formerly of Stahlstown, Pa., the oldest retired Funeral Director in Pennsylvania, 1926 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, who worked in the coal mines and as a house painter in the Donegal, Pa., and Mount Pleasant, Pa., areas to earn money to attend embalming school, and established the L. Boyd Snyder Funeral Home from the former E. N. Miller Funeral Home, died Thursday evening, January 22, 2003. He is survived by a son, Gordon O. SNYDER and wife, Helen HOYMAN Snyder with whom he resided in Ligonier, Pa.; granddaughters: Jamie SNYDER Brown and husband, David BROWN and their children, Katie BROWN, Michael BROWN and Sarah BROWN, of Acme, Pa., and Elizabeth SNYDER Bloom and husband, Brian BLOOM and their children, Brianne BLOOM, Alec BLOOM, and Helene BLOOM, of Ligonier; and a sister, Sarah SNYDER Hastings, of Jones Mills, Pa. Family will receive Friends in the Snyder Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, January 26, in Mount Zion Evangelical at 1 p.m. Unrelated to me.
