Roy E. Thorpe, 52, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born in Uniontown, on Sept. 28, 1951, son of the late Rolly and Alice BRADY THORPE. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rolly "Red" THORPE, Jr. He is survived by his companion, June Piwowar; children, Laura Hendrickson and her husband, Virgil, Frances M. THORPE, and Roy E. THORPE, Jr.; stepchildren, Richard Piwowar, Joyce Nahar, Brian Piwowar and Adam Piwowar; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard THORPE and Ted THORPE; two sisters, Joyce THORPE, all of Uniontown, and Frances THORPE, of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, until 10 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev.
