Actually, I descend twice from Owen Davis(1725-1810) and his first wife, Sarah Owens, from one of his grandsons named Owen Davis (1799-1849), son of Samuel (1753-1826); also from Mary (1755-1811) who m. Morgan Jones. Sounds exciting! What dob do you have for Rachel? I have Ruth (b. 8/23/1769) only as m. a Brown and simply with one son named Thomas who was mentioned in his grandfather's will. It appears that Ruth died before 1803. Best regards, Jane McCann Walsh jane@mccann.net

    3. Hello Jane, My Rachel Davis, as far as I can prove, was born in PA 11 May 1786. She married a JamesPatton, born in Ireland and was a resident of Saltlick Tsp., Fayette County, PA. She and her husband were original land holders in Stark County, OH in 1808, before OH was even a state. A government deed granted to James Patton mentioned "James Patton, from Fayette County, PA" which is what led me to Fayette. James and Rachel, according to a family bible, had 9 kids: Jesse, John, Phebe, James Davis Patton, William, Frances (my ancestor), Matthew, Andrew Pius, and Thomas. Of all the kids, two of them were still alive in the 1880 census: my ancestor Frances and Thomas. I have the b-dates of all nine if you're interested. Going off of dates the two oldest sons Jesse and John were born before the 1808 land acquisition. Any connections? --Andrew > Hi, Andrew, > One here!
