Evelene L. Harrold, 86, of Acme, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 19, 2004, at Select Specialty Hospital at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Evelene was born March 21, 1917, in Bullskin Township, a daughter of the late Frank W. Sr. and Martha "Maddie" Lewis Hertzog McConnell. She was a former member of Bridgeport Free Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed at IGH Super Dollar in Mount Pleasant and was previously employed by Lucky Food Center in Greensburg and also Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. After retirement, she was a dedicated homemaker and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Her memories will be cherished by her two sons, Robert Nichols and wife, Shirley, of Stahlstown, and Ronald Nichols, of Mount Pleasant; her daughter, Joan DeFilippo and husband, Ronald, of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Harrol! d, in 1977; a grandson, Robert George Gratzinger; four brothers, Harry, Wilkus, Oliver and Alvin McConnell; and four sisters, Alice Fisher, Cecelia Slonecker, Sara Mitchell Prue and an infant sister, Lynn McConnell. Friends will be received at the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., 730 W. Main St., Mount Pleasant, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard L.
