George RABATIN, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004. In heaven, he is reunited with his loving wife, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary; and the following brothers, and sisters, Anna Dolney, Mary Gushura, Elizabeth Young, Steve, Joseph, twin brother Andrew, and Paul RABATIN. He served his country proudly in the United States Army at the rank of Master Sergeant in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the following decorations: American Defense Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, European-African Middle Eastern Ribbon with a Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 38 years of service. He will be sadly missed by the following children, Walter "Rab" RABATIN and wife, Marcia, Rosemarie Leasure and husband, Paul, Ruth Shannon and husband, Robert, Barbara RABATIN, Lance RABATIN and Maggie RABATIN; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jacob RABATIN. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 51 and VFW Post 8543.
