James P. GIROD, 53, of Masontown, Pa., died suddenly on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on January 4, 1951, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Payton J. GIROD and Lillian A. ANDREWS Girod. His beloved mother Lillian passed away only a week before his death. James was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, and had served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in the remodeling and construction of All Saints Church Hall. He was a coal miner of 30 years, primarily at the Dilworth Mine; employed with US Steel Corporation, Consolidated Coal and presently RAG Mining Company. Surviving are three children, John P. "Jack" GIROD and wife, Aimee M., of Cleveland, Ohio; Christopher "C.J." GIROD and wife, Adrienne M., of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Jennifer R. GIROD, of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers and a sister, Jeffrey A. GIROD and wife, Mary Jo, of Uniontown, Pa.; Kathleen G. Plasko and husband Charles "Pye", of Carmichaels, Pa.; Richard J. GIROD and wife, Linda, of Uniontown, Pa.; Gerald J. "Budzoo" GIROD and wife, Michelle, of Washington, Pa.; and the following nieces and nephews: Matthew GIROD, Megan GIROD, Zachary GIROD, Anna Mary GIROD, Payton GIROD, Ryan GIROD, Scott Eaton, Brian Eaton, Ashley Dulik, Brittany Dulik, Morgan Dulik, Megan Dulik, "J.T." Dulik, Abbey Dulik, and Aiden Dulik. Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 N. Main St., Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, January 24, 2004, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in All Saints Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James F. Bump as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
