    3. James J. "Bud" BEATTY, 74, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Dilliner, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen SMITLEY BEATTY. He was a faithful member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, a coal miner, retired from Cumberland Mine, and a member of the U.M.W.A. Bud was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen SMITH Beatty, who he married on May 23, 1953; five children and their spouses, Detra and Jerry Michael and Lori and Tony Double, all of Dilliner, Deborah and Gary Bailey, of Adah, Pa., Jamie and Deborah Beatty, of Front Royal, Va., and Michael and Toni Beatty, of Xenia, Ohio; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brothers, Robert BEATTY, of Dilliner, and Joseph BEATTY, of Mount Morris, W.Va.(This might be a typo- could be Mount Morris, Pa.); sisters, Catherine Brown, of Dilliner, Leona David, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Betty Lynn, of Point Marion, Pa.; and by a number of loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Gene "Jiggs" BEATTY and Edward BEATTY; and sisters, Dorothy Byrne and Valetta Brown. Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and in the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Route 21, McClellandtown, Pa., on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Timothy D. Tanner officiating. Interment follows in Wolf's Cemetery, Dilliner, Greene County, Pa., with Military Rites accorded at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 747 and the American Legion Post 499, both of Point Marion, Fayette County, Pa. Unrelated to me. Just sharing a resource. Edward DUNLEVY
