Joy Irene BELVIS, 19, of California, Pa., died peacefully Tuesday, January 20, 2004, from complications of leukemia. She was born October 21, 1984, in Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter of Mark and Jessie WATSON BELVIS. She was a 2003 graduate of California High School. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Jessie Belvis, of California; father, Mark BELVIS and twin brother Mike BELVIS, both of Denbo Heights, Pa. She also leaves behind maternal grandmother, Gertrude Bell and husband, John, of Brownsville, Pa.; maternal grandfather, Norman WATSON, of Deemstown, Pa.; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret (Mugsy) Belvis, of Denbo Heights; plus several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, January 23, 2004, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Saturday, January 24, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, in the United Christian Church with the Rev. Jana Quisenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Phillipsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Oncology Department of Children's Hospital, 3705 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213.
