    3. Opal ADAMS Smith, 89, of Fairchance, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in Horizon Personal Care Home, Fairchance, Pa. She was born April 3, 1914, in Ireland, W.Va., daughter of the late Hiram S. Walter ADAMS and Tempie Rector Combs Adams. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dailey H. "Dale" SMITH, in 1988; and four sisters, Gladys Given, Ruby Turner, Audrey White and Ersel Dixon. Opal had been employed for many years until her retirement with the Fairchance Pharmacy, Select Shop and Metzler's Department Store in Uniontown, Pa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairchance, the Philathea Sunday Sunday School Class, and the American Baptist Women's Missionary Society. Surviving are her son, Larry Dale SMITH, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Walter ADAMS, Jr., of Chardon, Ohio, and William B. "Jack" ADAMS, of Bridgeport, W.Va.; her husband's brother, Willis SMITH, of Smithfield, Pa.; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fairchance, on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, from 9 until 10 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
