Samuel A. PORTERFIELD, 83, of Normalville died Sunday in Highlands Hospital and Health Center. He was born Nov 6, 1905, in Normalville, son of the late Daniel and Sarah Ritenour Porterfield. He was a resident of the Normalville area all of his life. He was a coal miner and timberman. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, John Porterfield of Normalville and David Porterfield of Acme; six daughters, Mrs. Sam (Sarah) Firestone and Mrs. Charles (Charlotte) Shultz, both of Indian Head, Mrs. Dale (Jean) Burkholder of Mill Run, Mrs. Larry (Lillian) Hall of Normalville, Mrs. John (M. Hazel) Rowe of Greensboro, and June Porterfield, at home; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Curt Porterfield and Clyde Porterfield, both of Mill Run. 7/23/1988 - Normalville Not related to me.
