Mail Lists: 2004-01-28 AOL is still blocking RootsWeb mail. We have contacted AOL and are working with them to resolve the problem. In the meantime, AOL users can read list mail through the archives at: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edward DUNLEVY, PAFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com List-Owner
Ed This AOL problem, Why are you contacting AOL? Rootsweb should be doing that. They and Ancestry have the most to lose. Ancestry should be up in arms as they are definitely commercial and AOL is stopping sales. Grant
The solution to AOL's blocking of rootsweb lists is simple; all rootsweb members, who have AOL accounts, should just cancel their AOL accounts and subscribe to another ISP. It's as simple as that and you won't have to worry about whether you will receive rootsweb lists messages or not. Sooner or later AOL will get the message that rootsweb messages are not SPAM. You may even save money too. Since dropping AOL in August 2002, my current ISP has not let one SPAM message through, and has not blocked one roootsweb list message.
