Mary B. HAMO Lofstead, 81, of Masontown, Pa., died peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2004, following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 15, 1922, in Masontown, Pa., daughter of George and Nezha BRAHAMSRA HAMO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald E. LOFSTEAD, Sr.; an infant sister, Antoinette HAMO; and brothers, Louis, Peter, and Harry HAMO. Mary was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church; a graduate of All Saints High School; Carter Member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 1623; and member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. A well known member of Masontown's business community, she was the dining room manager and hostess for the family-operated business, Dolfi's Restaurant of Masontown, for over 20 years. Surviving are her children, Gerald E. LOFSTEAD, Jr. and wife, Gloria, of Uniontown, Pa; Gregory A. LOFSTEAD and wife, Deborah, of Masontown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Gerald E. LOFSTEAD, III, Jarrett LOFSTEAD and Maria Elizabeth LOFSTEAD; a great grandson, Graham LOFSTEAD; two sisters, Margaret B. Cappellini, of Balsinger, Pa and Agnes Joann Nemer, of Akron, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, January 17, 2004, until 9:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., in All Saints Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. James F. Bump, Main Celebrant and the Rev. Fr. Leonard Stoviak, as Concelebrant. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory, may be made to Masontown Helping Hands Ministry, 107 S. Main St., Masontown, Pa. 15461.
