RACHEL KEEFE WALTERS, Brownsville, and the late ARTHUR A. BLACK. She was a member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, CLAYTON; two sons, JAMES W. and JERRY R., a daughter, MRS. RAY M. HAGERTY, a brother, JAMES GREENWOOD; two sisters, MRS. BETTY CIRIGLIANO and MRS. EFFIE DAWSON. WALTERS, MRS. RACHEL GREENWOOD, 89, 1020 High St., Brownsville, died July 8, 1976 in Brownsville General Hospital. She was born June 25, 1887 in Cardiff, Wales, a daughter of the late JAMES and MARY ANN DAVIS KEEFE. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Republic. Survivors include two daughters, MRS. EFFIE (BIM) DAWSON and MRS. BETTY CIRIGLIANO; and a son, JAMES GREENWOOD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, FLOYD WALTERS in 1962, a son, GOMER, March 7, 1959, and a daughter, MRS. INZIE M. MARTIN, July 6, 1976; three sisters and a brother. Burial in Pleasantview Cemetery, Smock, under the direction of the Homer L. Crawford Funeral Home, Brownsville. PORTER, L. DWIGHT (DUCK), 57, of 566 Waterloo Rd., Devon, PA, formerly of Bull Run Road, Brownsville, died July 9, 1976 in Paoli Memorial Hospital, Paoli, PA. He was born Aug. 5, 1918, in Brownsville, a son of the late COLUMBUS and SARAH ELIZABETH BANE PORTER. A former employee of PennDOT, Uniontown, he was an employee of the Deveraux Foundation in Transportation. He was a 1936 graduate of Brownsville High School. Survivors include his wife, MRS. DOROTHY BLYSTONE PORTER, and a brother, DR. GREGG W. PORTER. He was preceded in death by a sister, LILLIAN PORTER DAVIDSON, three brothers, NEWELL, ROGER, and CLARENCE PORTER. PLICHTA, 86, 514 Front St., Brownsville, died in Monongahela Hospital yesterday. He was a retired blacksmith who had resided in Brownsville for 55 years. MACK, TED, 72, who spent most of his life offering amateur performers a chance in the spotlight died July 12, 1976, in Westchester County Hospital, New York, of cancer. In this Your Brownsville and Mine Column, July 13, 1976, by John J. Bogorae, he writes that Mrs. LOUIS GILLESPIE VAJK, of Uniontown, sent some data on land purchased by CORNELIUS GILLESPIE from INDIAN PETER. The land is now Blainesburg (the second precinct of West Brownsville) and most of West Brownsville. The information is recorded in Book B. Vol. 1, p. 406. in the County Recorder's Office, WASHINGTON County, PA. The quote of the memorandum is given. (any one wishing this, please email me privately). In this same column, Bogorae, writes that STEPHEN (AMOS) ROEBUCK, Water St. Brownsville is one of the possessors of a souvenir of the last West Penn Trolley car trip from Uniontown to Brownsville, Jan. 28, 1950. It says "Welcome abroard! You are traveling on the 426,000 trip to be made by a West Penn Railways trolley car from Uniontwon to Brownsville since the first day of service, Thursday, July 2, 1908. Since taht day, West Penn trolley cars have clicked off nearly 14,500,000 miles on this run, or enough miles for 580 trips around the world." MRS. COCHRANE had been employed at the freight office of the Monongahela Railway Co. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Brownsville. Her husband, H. KENNETH COCHRANE died Feb. 27, 1968. Survivors include a step-daughter, RUTH, wife of PHILLIP CLARK, JR., a sister, MARY O'DONNELL and a brother, BRUCE MADERA. She was born July 29, 1918 in Houston, PA, the daughter of the late RALPH E. and MARGARET COLBURN ZARING. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Brownsville and had been employed by the Brownsvile Area School District as a cafeteria worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, HARVEY J. CARROLL, March 18, 1973 and a sister, MARY ELIZABETH. Survivors include two daughters, MRS. ESTEL KNISLEY and MRS. DANNY MOLESKI; and a brother, RALPH C. ZARING. B., 64, of Carmichaels, R.D.1, died Aug. 10, 1976 in Greene County Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was a son of the late Dr. ROBERT H. and CLARA BROWN MILLER. He was born Aug. 4, 1912 in Michigan. He graduated from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA and the Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia. He had been a physician in Crucible, Rices Landing, and Carmichaels for 35 years. He also served as team physician for the Carmichaels and Mapletown High Schools. He completed his internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and his residency at Brownsville General Hospital in Brownsville, PA. He had resided in Greene County since 1941. He was a member of the Hewitt Presbyterian Church of Rices Landing, the Greene County Medical Society and the AMA. Surviving are his wife, JEAN MILLER, whom he married Aug. 20, 1941; a daughter, MRS. CAROL WALSH, and two granddaughters, KEIRSTEN and SHANNON WALSH. He was the last of his immediate family. Burial in Greene County Memorial Park under the direction of the Frank J.
