not mine, just sharing Josephine Sarah "Shorty" PAUL KIRBY, 82, of Nilan Hill, Point Marion, R.D. PA, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 1, 2004. Born in Lake Lynn, Pa, on Feb. 10, 1921, she was a daughter of Frank E. and Virginia (COBURN) Paul. She attended Nilan Hill School and Nilan Methodist Church until its closing and was an active and faithful member of Lake Lynn Chapel. She had served as Superintendent of Sunday Schools, taught Sunday School classes and sang in the church choir. Since the age of 14 "Shorty" had worked as a Housekeeper for various families in the Point Marion area until 2001. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard W. KIRBY in 1971, a grandson, Daniel FRIEND, sisters, Nora BAIR and Rosa Mary DOWNEY, brothers, Eugene, Walter, Frank and Mitchell PAUL, and parents. Surviving are her four children and their spouses: Marvin "Bo" and Gloria KIRBY, Haughton LA; Elton and Jane KIRBY, Bossier City LA; Yvonne L. and Church FRIEND, Dilliner, PA; and Grady William, Brooklyn NY; six grandchildren: Sharon MARTIN, Susan CALHOUN, Yvonne NOCK, Paula ARNOLD, Wesley KIRBY, Jea HAINES; nine great grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home in Point Marion, PA. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park. trumpcard1@earthlink.net
