BERT SUTTON, one of four former Mon Valley football stars, will be inducted into the Mon Valley Sports Hall of Fame at the 27th annual Big 10 Banquet on Monday, Dec. 13, 1976 at Twin Coaches. SUTTON was one of seven brothers who played football. Sutton is only one of three players named to the conference first team for three years, (1942, 1943, 1944) when Brownsville was at the pinnacle of success in football. He was a chunky powerful fullback. The other three members inducted are ALBERT 'BO' P. WILDMAN, the late GEORGE J. (BEANS) CHACKO, and FRED COX. LANCASTER, MRS. MABEL FLORENCE, 75, 222 Thornton Rd., Brownsville, died Dec. 5, 1976 in Brownsville General Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1901, the daughter of the late REV. and MRS. LESLIE FLORENCE. She was employed by R.S. Goldstein's for 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and a life member of the Oak Leaf Temple, No. 96, IBOE of West Brownsville. She was also affiliated with many organizations in the Brownsville area. Survivors include her husband, CHARLES LANCASTER, a sister, OLIVE FLORENCE, a brother, DeWAYNE (TEDDY) FLORENCE; two nieces, MRS. CHARLOTTE PATTERSON and MRS. PAULINE CRABTREE; and a nephew, WILLIAM MORGAN. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brownsville under the direction of the Donald Law, Sr. Funeral Home, Brownsville. BOWMAN, GENEVIEVE J., 84, Greensburg, R.D. 7, died Dec. 12, 1976 in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born June 18, 1892, in Ebensburg, a daughter of the late EDWIN and MAGGIE DRENNEN BOWMAN. She was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her brother, WHYNDHAM BOWMAN, Brownsville. Burial in Irwin Union Cemetery under the direction of the M.S. Hartman Funeral Home, Latrobe. STEPHENSON, MARKER, SR., 71, of 6 Sixth Ave. Brownsville, died Dec. 20, 1976 in Brownsville General Hospital. He was born Aug. 19, 1905 in West Brownsville, the son of the late GEORGE and OPHELIA MARKER STEPHENSON. He was a member of the Fort Burd Presbyterian Church, the Brownsville Lions Club, the Brownsville Lodge No. 51, IOOF, and a member of the West Brownsville Volunteer Fire Co., He was a retired employee of PennDOT. Survivors include his wife, MRS. ELSIE GUYER STEPHENSON, three sons, MARKER STEPHENSON, JR., RODNEY G. STEPHENSON, and JAMES (PETE) STEPHENSON; two sisters, MRS. ELIZABETH MULLIGAN and MRS. HELEN SKENE. Burial in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill under the direction of the Andrew J. Skirpan Funeral Home. MOSKOVITZ, MAX, 69, Century Village, Deerfield Beach, FL, formerly of Brownsville died of a heart attack, Dec. 29, 1976 in North Broward General Hospital, Pompano Beach, FL. He was a retired business man having operated a dry cleaning and tailoring business in Fredericktown for over 50 years. He was born Sept. 13, 1907, in Austria-Hungary, the son of the late FRANK and JENNY LEBOVITZ MOSKOVITZ. Survivors include his wife, MRS. ELEANOR SIOVITZ MOSKOVITZ, five sons, DR. MEYER B. MOSKOVITZ, DR. WILLIAM S. MOSKOVITZ, DR. DONALD D. MOSKOVITZ, JACK and ROBERT MOSKOVITZ, three daughters, MRS. JENNIE GOTTLIEB, MRS. RITA DRESSLER and MISS DARLENE MOSKOVITZ; two brothers, LOUIS and HERMAN MOSKOVITZ; two sisters, MRS. MOLLIE DAVIS and MRS. LILLIAN HERMAN. Burial at Sharon Gardens Memorial Park, Fort Lauderdale, Fl RANKIN, JOSEPH H., 72, of 723 Jefferson Ave., W. Brownsville, died Dec. 31, 1976 in Brownsville General Hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1904 in Brownsville the son of the late WILLIAM L. and ANNE E. CHADWICK RANKIN. He was a member of the South Brownsville United Methodist Church. He was a retired miner of the Maxwell Mine with over 40 years of service. Survivors include his wife, JOSEPHINE TOYE RANKIN; two sisters, MRS. FRANCES STEVENSON and MRS. JENNY ARTIS. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
