Hi Nancy, There is a listing in the local telephone directory for a St. Mary's Orthodox Church- Rectory- 309 South Washington Street, Masontown, Pa.- Telephone 724-583-9740. I don't know how long it has been in existence. The heading under which this church is listed is: Churches- Eastern Orthodox. Edward

Hi, Nancy, There are two other churches listed in the Yellow Pages which might also be the one you seek. The first is Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church on Church Street in New Salem and the other is ST. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville. For that one the address of the rectory is listed as 302 3rd Avenue. In the white pages, the church has the same address in Brownsville. In the white pages, there's also "Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Parsonage 92 S Mill Street, New Salem. I do not know the history of these churches. Seems as if there is at least one more --- perhaps in the Leisenring area. There is a great listing of churches on a website; the old url no longer works for it. Found again, slightly revised: http://www.hhs.net/fforward/spiritual/churches.htm Regards, Jane

    3. Once upon a time there was an Orthodox church in Perryopolis. May still be there?? 1929 - 1930???? there was a small building on the hill above White Row in Star Junction. I was told that this was an Orthodox Church. Star Junction did not exist until 1892. Grant
