Andrew ADAMIK, 86, of Oliphant Furnace, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born April 17, 1917, in Oliphant Furnace, Pa., son of the late George ADAMIK and Mary SIVAK Adamik. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Anna Kulis; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Helen ADAMIK and Michael and Dorothy ADAMIK; and an infant brother, Joseph ADAMIK. Andrew was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Church of Uniontown, the Holy Name Society and Senior Citizens. He was also a member of AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa., and Alfred Wilson Memorial VFW Post 7219 of Fairchance, Pa. Andrew was employed as a parts manager with the former Jim Stewart Pontiac in Uniontown, and the former Rossini Buick, Pontiac and Oldsmobile in Masontown, Pa., until his retirement. Surviving are sisters, Mary Bandzuch and husband, Andrew, of Rosedale, Pa., Helen Kmetz, of Fairchance, Pa., and Theresa Petruska and husband, Steve, of Uniontown, Pa.; a brother, George ADAMIK, of Chardon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Panachida Service will be held, in the funeral home, on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at 10:15 a.m., followed by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m., in the Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic, Uniontown, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Byzantine, with military rites being accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
