Gens H. "Skip" MERRYMAN, 61, of Tuner Road, Austintown, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 26, 2004, at his home after a one-year battle with cancer. Skip was born March 30, 1942, in Luzerne Township, Pa., the son of William L. and Catherine E. AINSLEY MERRYMAN. He had worked at General Motors Lordstown Plant for over 30 years, before retiring in 1997. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3298, and United Auto Workers No. 1112. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed golfing, fishing, horseback riding and bowling. He is survived by his wife, the former Janet PRINE Fowler, whom he married June 13, 1981; a daughter, Michele MERRYMAN, of Georgia; a son, Skip MERRYMAN and two grandchildren, Stacia and Kyle MERRYMAN, all of Virginia; and a brother, William (Jacque) MERRYMAN, Jr., of Hopwood, Pa. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward A. Fowler. Friends may call this evening from 5 to 6:45 p.m., in the HIGGINS-REARDON FUNERAL HOME, Austintown Chapel.
