Hi All, I have been working on a description of some of the twp. changes in Westmoreland County & came to Donegal Twp., which had basically the lower half taken over by Saltlick Twp. when Fayette County formed. I listed all the names from the Fayette County Patent listings from the index for Saltlick Twp. & felt that I might as will list them on this site in case they can help anyone on here too. I would be inclined to say that most of them will be for after the 1783 formation of Fayette County from Westmoreland County & most likely only ever appear in records for Fayette County. It will be necessary for you to check this out if you see any names that are of interest to you. A Portion of Donegal Twp., Westmoreland County To Saltlick Twp., Fayette County When Fayette County was formed on Sept. 26, 1783 it was about the bottom half of Donegal Twp. that was then incorporated in to the new twp. The way to look at the patents that might now appear in that county means one has to know the location of the patents for determination. The following names appear on the patent map for Saltlick Twp., Fayette County. To determine the date of settlement one must look at the patent map for that township and also check the placement of the property to determine if it ever appeared in Donegal Twp.
