I think that Susan Lilley and my great grandmother Harriet Lilley (m. James Brownfield) were sisters. That would make Susan's son John Wesley Fisher, Jr a cousin to Harriet's daughter Mary. So, it looks like Mary married her first cousin. Thomas A. Lilley m. Lydia Gans dau. Susan Lilley dau. Harriett Rebecca Lilley My line goes: Thomas A. Lilley m. Lydia Gans dau. Harriett Rebecca m. James Brownfield son James Russell Brownfield (Mary would be his sister) m. Pheobe Ellen Brady son George A Brownfield m. Joan I Viola dau. (me) Sharon I. Brownfield m. Thomas P. Witt I'm missing who your mother/father are. But it looks like your line is, Thomas A. Lilley m. Lydia Gans Susan Lilley m. John Wesley Fisher Mary Elizabeth Fisher m. ??? your parent you I hope this makes sense. I think that something happened in the families of Thomas A. Lilley and his brother Francis Asbury Lilley. I see where some of the children are living with Thomas (1860 census) and then with Francis (1870 census). In the 1880 census there are even more kids. Plus to make things even more confusing, there were 3 different Lydia's as their wives. I was trying to patch these families together last night and was up past midnight when I finally had to give it up. I'll try to put something together with how I think they fit together. Take Care & God Bless, Sherry PS: I too thank Jane for all of her hard work and dedication to helping others. She has been a real blessing to me.
