Dear Listers, I thought I'd mention a resource that many of the younger researches may never have heard about. Back around the end of the 1940's a simple magazine type of issue was created by a lady named Frances Strong Helman who was the Editor of it. The copyright was in her name & Beulah Heffelfinger. All rigths reserved. Address: 1082 Maple Street, Indiana, PA It was issued Bi-Monthly. I believe the later editions were indexed. This lady has been gone a long time now but there is an Indiana County Historical Society & they most likely have all the issues. Of course, they would charge for research, but I would imagine that one might go there to do research if they are lucky enough to be able to get that way. The point is that good records for research was placed in these issues for many different counties & let's face it. The people who wound up in Fayette County didn't parachutte in! You will find wills, tax records, immigrants material, queries etc. etc. in these issues for a number of diffent PA counties early. Therefore, if you need earlier material it's another source to look into. You might check the PA Room in Uniontown Library to see if they have any of the copies or someone on here may have run across them.
