Do you know if Indiana has been microfilmed and if so, how do you get your hands on them. Marva Stateler mstateler@aol.com >> Marva, You can check to see if the LDS have the films for that state or check the NARA at their sites online. I would check with Ancestry.com to she how much of the entire collection is on line presently. There were 22,000,000 records for WW I, alone. NARA site: http://www.archives.gov/ The original records for your region would be held at the Great Lakes Regional Branch in Chicago Ill. I went to the catalogue of films at the NARA and they listed for example WV, WW II Cards. Microfilm ID M1937 Record Group RG147 Title WWII draft cards (Fourth Registration) for the state of West Virginia Physical Description 56 reels ; NARA Viewing Location Archives I Research Room Services Branch National Archives and Records Administration 7th and Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington DC 20408-0001 Phone: 202-501-5400 Holdings note: 160-1 I also saw Delaware 1942 cards listed but no other states at the moment. I know that in Philadelphia I can also access Maryland on film for the 1942 films. But it isn't listed in the catalogue at the moment. Apparently the catalogue needs to be updated. This is the page you will need for the 1917/18 cards and it lists where they can be viewed if you want to use the film version: http://merrimack.nara.gov/cgi-bin/starfinder/18846/micfilm.txt It appears that each region will have their own records on film right now and not states that fall into other regions. They state there are 4,272 rolls as the physical description of the entire collection. But Illinois isn't listed in this catalogue. Seems like the entire site is out of date. The following page does list Illinois and the other states but not in the catalogue: http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/military/wwi_draft_registratio n_cards.html This next page is for only Illinois and what is on each film for that state: http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/military/wwi_draft_registratio n_illinois.html The following page will give you the branches and times to access records and films for the entire country. http://www.archives.gov/facilities/index.html Good Luck, Robert
