George M. SNYDER, 76, of 800 E. Main St., Somerset, formerly of Snyder St., Connellsville, died Friday at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1910 at Normalville, son of the late Wesley and Harriet Ann Murray Snyder. He had been a resident of Somerset for two years and previously resided in the Connellsville area. He was a retired coal miner for U.S. Steel Corp. and former member of the U.M.W.A. He was former member of Normalville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Knupp Roddy Snyder; one son, George H. of Scottdale; two stepsons, William and Clark Roddy, both of Somerset; two daughters, Wilma Pirl of Rogers Mills and Mrs. Harry (Della) Pirl of Connellsville, R.D. 2; one stepdaughter, Nancy Nunmeyer of Boswell; six grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and two brothers, Ralph of Connellsville and Elmer of Star Route, Normalville. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sara Madeline Sanner Snyder; a daughter, Linda; three brothers, Thomas, Jacob and Milton Snyder; two sisters, Laura Shaw and Lucy Terry, and one stepdaughter, Harriet Louise Roddy.
