Silas W. ECKENROD, 66, of New Cumberland, R.D. 2, W. Va., died Friday in Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, W. Va. He was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Mount Pleasant, son of the late Silas W. and Louise Reese Eckenrod Sr. He was a member of New Cumberland United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 22 of New Cumberland, Scottish Rite of Wheeling, W. Va., Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the DAV of Weirton, W. Va., the Burge-Castro Post of VFW of Chester, W. Va. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Thayer Eckenrod; a son, William D. Eckenrod of New Cumberland, W. Va.; five sisters, Ida Franey of Greensburg, Yvonne Schomer of Scottdale, Pearl Robertucci of Connellsville, Dorothy Berdine of Melcroft, and Eleanor Stephens of Dothan, Ala.
