Sister Fabiola (Helen) Boruta, OSBM, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Province of the Sisters of Saint Basil the Great, in Uniontown, Pa., died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2004. She was 85 years of age and had been a Basilian Sister for 67 years. Sister Fabiola was born in Moosic, Pa., (near Scranton, Pa.) to the late Harry and Anna RUDIC BORUTA. She entered the Sisters of Order of Saint Basil the Great from Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Old Forge, Pa., in 1936. Sister Fabiola served as both teacher and principal in various schools of the Byzantine Metropolitan Province for over 50 years. Her love for teaching was evident in the number of pupils who kept in touch with her during the years while she was still in the education apostolate and beyond. Sister Fabiola was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Charles, and a sister, Ann (Donnelly). In addition to the member of her community, she is survived by two sisters, Mary Bobkowski and Susan Moughan; also one nephew and one niece. Relatives and Friends will be received at the Monastery Chapel on Tuesday, February 3, from 3:30 to 9 p.m. The Parastas Service will be sung on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. The Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m. with Archbishop Basil, Metropolitan of Pittsburgh, officiating. Burial will be in the Dormition Section of Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa. The STEPEHN E.
