Hi Folks; I just realized my spell check has corrected KUHNS to KAHNS sorry. The information for ordering from the Obit in the PA Room applies for all surnames. The earliest of the obits appeared in 1805 BUT - they are very few. The reason being the microfilm is not available for the very early papers except in limited supply. The index cards contain - deceased name date of death , place of death , Newspaper it appears in, some have page and paragraph as well. Occasionally there will be a spouse listed and if it is attached to a headline it is usually stated. I assume the fees have remained the same although the Uniontown Library was heavily hit by the decrease in grant money from the state of Pennsylvania so if they may have found it necessary to raise them a little please understand. As to your questions about Park Place Cemetery in Uniontown. It is still a work in progress and there is much to be done. The Girl Scouts did a wonderful job about five years ago of clearing brush and recording the standing stones. There are approximately 150 plus that are only visible in part the rest either worn away by age and the weather. Many additional were never recorded as they were indigent and have no stone, stones have been removed. We are attempting to extract information about any known burials from family members , civil records or obituaries. For those of you who e-mailed me privately I am answering the general information questions to the list but I will respond to you individually in the next few days. It takes me a little while to look up those individuals you request information on. Marilyn
