Richard J. "Tex" McKinney, 81, of 132 E. Fairview Ave., Connellsville, died Tuesday, March 22, 1994, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. He was born May 11, 1912, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Avey and Emma Farley McKinney. He was a Protestant by faith, and a boilermaker by trade. He served during World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of American Legion, Post 301, Connellsville; the Fraternal Order of Eagles 493, Connellsville; the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 16, Connellsville; and the Slovak and Polish Club, Connellsville. He was an avid pool player, having belonged to pool leagues through various organizations. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly McKinney of Pittsburgh; a son, Ronald J. McKinney of New Kensington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Powers of Plantation, Fla.; and two special friends, Irene Dillon and Evelyn M.
