Regina KERN Jacobs, 84, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from Uniontown Hospital. She was born January 26, 1920 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Curtis and Mayme SHAFFER KERN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. JACOBS, Sr., in 1967, two sons, Carl JACOBS and Charles E. JACOBS, Jr., a granddaughter, Debbie Light, brothers, Merle KERN and Thomas KERN, sisters, Elizabeth KERN and Ida Mae KERN, and parents. Regina was a Cook and Custodian with Laurel Highlands School District for 20 years before retiring. She was a Democratic Committee Woman for 30 years in North Union Township District 2. Regina was a lifetime member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church. Surviving are the following children: Ruthann Baker, of Norfolk, Virginia, and Curtis JACOBS and wife, Patricia, of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Jacobs, of Ottsville, Pa.; a brother, Carl KERN, of Allison Park, Pa.; a sister, Ruth Atkinson, of Hopwood, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Carl, Terri Sue, Joanne, Jim, Ty, Brad and Tara; six great-grandchildren: Heather, Shelby, Regina, William, Josh and Jason; nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Visitation continues in Cove Run Free Methodist Church on Saturday, February 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Yeager officiating.
