LILLEY DIES AT HOME Mrs. Kate Lilley, one of the well known women of the Monongahela valley and a member of an old and widely known family, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home on Second street, California. She had not been in good health but her condition was not alarming. After eating her noonday meal she took up her sewing. After sewing for a time she lay down. Some time later members of the household heard her exclaim "Oh!" and going to her side found her dead. Mrs. Lilley, whose maiden name was Marchand was born 70 years age near California and had spent her entire life in that section. There survive two daughters and one son: The Misses Sadie and Etta Lilley, both teachers at the California Normal School, and Dr. Wilbur C. Lilley, of Brownsville. Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Highland cemetery. (Ed. note: Mrs. Lilley was born 9/6/1843 per DAR Lineage Book, Vol. 140, p. 135)
