Elijah Walden, b. 1762 in Pr. Wm. County, VA was in Lee's Legion during Rev. War and received a pension for his 3 years' service. He is the Patriot ancestor for D.A.R. membership through his son, Samuel, etc. There is a Bounty Warrant for "Elijah Walden, soldier, certified December 1783" in the VA State Library, Richmond, VA. Then, on April 12, 1784: "#32923 - Elijah Walden (Nivholas Payne, assee) 100 A. Pvt. Virginia Continental Line - 3 yrs." see in "Catalog of Revo. Soldiers and Sailors of the Commonwealth of Virginia to whom Land Bounty Warrants were granted by VA for Military Service in the War for Independence," compiled by Samuel M. Wilson, 1967. I am not certain these records relate to my Elijah Walden, b. 1762, since there was another Elijah Walden from Pr. Wm. Co., VA who also served in the Rev. War. Could this man be the Elijah Walden, b. 1766??? Help to clarify would be appreciated. Jean
