Hi there, Just wanted to let everyone know that we are now at 2000 obits on the Fayette County PAGenWeb site. These are almost all pre 1940. You can look at the obits by surname or you can use the Pico search engine to search just the obits for a name that is mentioned. To do that, use the drop down box and change it to "Search the Obituaries". http://www.rootsweb.com/~pafayett/index.html Click on Fayette Obits This is an ongoing project so keep checking back. Regards, Chris

I am trying to find out if he was the son of John May and Beatrice Hooper. The John May I am researching had 4 sisters, Leah, Edna, Evelyn and Pauline. John would have born about 1910. In 1930 census he is married with a wife named Sylvia and a daughter Geraldine. Can anyone help please.
This is the 2ooth anniversary of the National Road. Ohio will be participating in the yard sale which goes from Baltimore, MD, and ends in MO. Over 800 mile yard sale! Dates are May 31 thur June 4. The Ohio Historical Society is printing a book called "A Traveler's Guide to the Historic National Road" which also offers detailed information regarding past and present status of the National Road. A free publication, you can get by contacting the Ohio Historical Society at (614) 297-2300. I have nothing to do with the Ohio Historical Society. I often see fellow genealogist sending queries about the National Road and thought someone may want this information. Hope it helps someone and if you know your state is putting something like this out let me know so I could order it form them. I think it would be neat to have this informaton from each state. I must have missed an e-mail. You say that your looking for Anthony M? I did find an Anthony B, b. 1870 with wife Mary, b. 1878. With a daughter Ella A, age 3 in 1900, Westmoreland County. So are these the two we are looking for in earlier census? Are the above the correct years? or are they the wrong people and we are looking for someone born in 1860 and 1868? Sorry that I missed something and need clarification. I have the book. Unfortunately it says nothing more than "William T. Lilley 1921-1971". They give no grave locations and it is alphabetical, not by location, so you cannot tell who is buried nearby. I can't believe they're asking that much for the book. Joan
