Good evening listers. Is anyone out there researching this Buttermore family? I have a question about Fred. I find Fred S. Buttermore married to Florence M. Whipkey abt. 1914 and divorced about 1920. He then marries Elizabeth Etling about 1920. Elizabeth dies in 1926. Then I find Fred S. Buttermore married to a Hazel L. Leichliter, married in 1953. Are these the same Fred S. Buttermore or are there two of them??? I cannot find Fred's obit to prove anything. I believe he died in 1980 in Connellsville. Any help would be really appreciated here. Thanks, Joyce :)

A friend called & asked me about finding this out & I thought I'd run it by those locals on here. A man named Paul Hough died at his daughter's home about 1913. Prior to that time he had a home somewhere near Dawson, PA & she'd like to try to find out where it was located. Does anyone on here have any access to info that might help? He was married to a Reynolds. Ellen (ETHS) Visit my web site at: http://www.familytreetracer.com <http://www.familytreetracer.com/>
I have a copy of a "Diploma" from St John's Parochial School, Connellsville, dated June 24, 1928 for MARY KOCIS. I was wondering if there is anyone on this list who may have use for this? I really have no idea how I ended up with this since Mary is no relation of mine. Please let me know. Does any of this ring even a faint bell with anyone? Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Parish History, 1926, lists Casper Rider under "fathers of children baptized before the year 1800." This church is located 8 miles SE of Washington, PA, and was pastored by Johannes Stauch who was also the pastor at Jacob's Lutheran in the same time frame (1791-1808). He also served Ginger Hill (Stecher's) Church and possibly Pigeon Creek (Kamerer) and Werner's (North Zion) in Allegheny Co. Rider, Maria J. (1844-1844) (aged 3 months, 14 days) This tombstone was found in the Horn Cemetery, on the property of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (founded 1869, disbanded 1942). Many stones in the cemetery predate the founding of this church. This cemetery is a couple miles north of Marianna, Washington Co, very near the Greene Co. line. Tombstone reads: Maria J. daughter of G. and E. Rider died Sept 26 1844. It is fallen flat; won't be long until it is buried in the grass. It is beside Catharine Boos, wife of Christian (maybe), d: 13 May 1846, aged 29. Nearby stones spell this name Booze. Note that in the 1860 census records that George and Elizabeth Rider, Greene Co, have a daughter named Maria who is living, so not the infant, and a woman named Catharine Boos, age 69, living in their household. Possibly this Catharine Boos is the mother of the the Catherine Boos who died in 1846. Rider, George (c1790- ) (ref: 1820, 1850, 1860 U.S. Census) occ: plasterer wife: Booze (Rider), Elizabeth (c1800- ?) res: Morgan twp, Greene Co, PA (ten children)
A big thanks to all who sent me Bechtel names buried in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. I found the ones I needed. I really appreciate it! Joyce :)

Hello Fayette, A friend from Utah has asked me to find a record of his great great grandmother, Sarah Gummet Crowl. She was the grandmother of Ann Rhoads Wells m. James Truman Wells (Bridgeport) and McKeesport, Allegheny County. They believe Mrs. Crowl may be buried in the Episcopal Cemetery in Brownsville. He would appreciate any information on the Crowl family. James Truman Wells was the brother of Oliver C. Wells, sons of Joseph and Sophia Boyd Wells of Bridgeport. Thanks for your help. Rosalie

Hello to Fayette County, I am looking for information on my great-aunt: Jane Ann (AVERY) NORMAN born 1850 in England or possible one or more of her children: Annie born 1874 Emma born 1878 Frank born 1883 Lucy born 1886 Samuel born 1889 She lived in Allegheny county with George NORMAN until after his death, then moved to Fayette County. She appears on the 1900 Census, but then I lose track of her and her children. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I am looking for relatives/ancestors of my ancestor: Sarah CRAIG, born 12 May 1767 in PA, married John VanDolah in about 1786 in Fayette, PA. They had 9 children in Fayette PA (1787-1807), and then moved to Fayette OH where they had one more in 1810. Sarah died in Fayette OH in 1860. I know nothing about her except she was born in PA (Fayette?), and she lived in Fayette PA at least from 1786-1807. This would fit with Mary's sister Sarah. Sarah Craig VanDolah's children married Shotwell, Stretch, Gregory, Gilmore, Stout, Davis, Hadley, Nutt and Ogden. Almost all moved to IL -- mostly to McLean County. Anything else fit?? I found only five Craigs in Fayette County PA in 1790 - John, Thomas, James, Thomas, and John. Perhaps William had already died? Any idea where his sons Hugh and Daniel are? I would be ecstatic for any clues.
