    1. Alpheus Wilson murder
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wilson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WdB.2ACI/3368 Message Board Post: I am trying to find some information about a murder that took place in March 11,1884. According to old newspaper articles that I found Alpheus Wilson was shot and killed by his son Frank in a fit of anger. The article (in the Indiana Weekly Messenger) only states that the dispatch came from Uniontown but does not state in which township the murder took place. I have not been able to determine if this is the correct Alpheus Wilson. I know that my gg grand father did have a son Frank, among others. His wife was Delilah. I have them on the 1870 census (listed as Alfred) living in South Union township and prior to that in Georges. I can't find them on the 1880 census as of yet, but I have found that Alpheus has passed away by 1890. The 1890 Veterans Schedule shows Delilah as a widow. Any help would be greatly appreciated......Kathy

    3. Would your Craigs be related in any way to Thomas Barton CRAIG (Oct. 6, 1841 - Jan. 25, 1910), son of John Smilie CRAIG and Jane SPRINGER? Thomas was a farmer, I believe in North Union Township, Fayette County, PA most of his life. He married Matilda STENTZ in Connellsville on December 13, 1877. Would be glad to share what information I have. The following info taken from 1900 census Fayette County>Dunbar Twp, sheet 13a written or stamped sheet number 273a on line 33, no occupation is listed for James. So hope this is who your looking for. When I looked at the 1910 census, I couldnt find either nancy or James, there was a James Moody listed as living in the same twp Dunbar but his birth year is 1882 which doesnt match up to James the son listed birth year of 1894 in the 1900 census but I get the feeling somehow there related.
