    1. Re: [PAFAY] Levi Hall--Thanks!
    2. ellen Levy
    3. Hi Bobbi: Levi Hall sounds very familiar to me. Do you know Elizabeth's maiden name? Do you have children and spouses? I have quite a bit on Asa Thorpe's line I can send you - this is my husband's line. He married Jemima Mitchell. In the 1820 Census for Wharton Twp., Asa and Jemima Tharp are newlyweds and living next door to Thomas Mitchell (1 male 10-16, 2 males 16-26, 1 male over 45, 1 female 16-26, 1 female over 45). Also living nearby are Lewis Mitchell and Abner Mitchell. The Mitchell's were a mystery to me until I came across the information on the Jersey Church families all migrating together from Woodbridge, NJ to Somerset County. And I knew from my research that the Thorpe's also migrated from Woodbridge (as did the Fayette County Daniels family as well!). I still haven't found which of these Mitchell men is Jemima's father, but at least I know now that she is probably descended from John Mitchell from Woodbridge. I feel confident that these families knew each other (or of each other) while they still lived in New Jersey. I am also researching the Shipley family in conjunction with some other descendants and would very much like to correspond with you about them. I have a Martha Shipley (abt 1805) who married James Burnworth (James's mother was Elizabeth Ruppel, of the "Rubel" or "Rupel" family that everyone was posting about a few weeks ago). I believe Martha is sister to your Nancy, and Asa is brother to your David Tharp! Asa and David's brother, William Tharp (abt 1798) also married a Mitchell - Marion Maria Mitchell (abt 1802). I know of another researcher who is researching a Mariah Shipley, born about the same time period as Martha and Nancy. Ellen (ellenlevy66@yahoo.com) Bobbi K <snshine8@cvzoom.net> wrote: Yes, Jane and Tony, the Levi and Elizabeth listed in the Springhill and C'ville Township is the family I am searching. They are supposed to be related to my Hall line. Now, I have some names to work with. Thanks so much! Ellen, you are right about all the families in the Turkeyfoot area. I think I have ancestors that married into all the names you mentioned but two or three. I looked through my Tharp info and I have Asa, but no family listed with him. The Nancy Shipley who married David Tharp is my ancestor. Thanks, again! 2. albert peloquin
    3. Edward: My maternal uncles had told me that my step-father had taken my half-sister to one of the Carolinas and through a website I joined in NC I located my step-father's name. I was able to write to some people in NC and was happy to receive a reply envelope in the mail, but very disappointed to find a funeral home memoriam with her picture. She died in 1970 which was before we lived in NC. From that I was able to get an obituary from a newspaper. Our mother died when Arlene was six days old and I don't think she ever knew she had a half-brother. I was not listed as a survivor. After Mother died, I lived with my maternal grandparents. I was born in Brooklyn where my mother and Paul PELOQUIN lived. Our family has lived in North Carolina since 1975. I appreciate your very prompt. You are most kind. Albert Peloquin
